Join us for an inspiring and eye-opening talk about the power of design. Together we’ll explore how design shapes our daily experiences – and how thinking like a designer can help us approach every day and societal challenges in new ways.
Talk with researcher from Design School Kolding – part of Danish Science Week
Design is everywhere in our lives – even when we don’t notice it.
Why are some things incredibly easy to use, while others make us frustrated in seconds? Why do some spaces feel natural and inspiring, while others simply don’t work?
In this engaging talk, Richard Herriott, Associate Professor, Lab for Social Design from Kolding School of Design will explore what designers do, and how design shapes the way we live, move, work, and interact every day. From everyday objects and public spaces to systems like buying a train ticket or navigating an airport – design influences far more than we often realize.
You’ll also get a fascinating insight into design thinking: a uniquely human way of solving problems that can be applied far beyond products – even to complex societal challenges.
Kolding is a city of design. Home to Kolding School of Design, and recognised internationally as a UNESCO Design City, design thinking plays an important role in shaping the city. It is not only taught and researched at the design school, but also used by the local municipality to develop better solutions for citizens and everyday life.
Join us for an inspiring and thought-provoking evening where we look at the world around us through the lens of design.
