Who are we?
Business Kolding is a private, not-for-profit foundation dedicated to strengthening business development, entrepreneurship, and sustainable growth in Municipality of Kolding in Southern Denmark. With 15+ years of experience in national and European projects, we combine strong business networks with practical implementation capacity – turning project ideas into activities and solutions that create value for companies.

Business access - We work closely with companies and entrepreneurs across sectors and provide access to business networks, SMEs, cases and real-world environments for testing and implementation.
Project experience - We have participated in cross-border, European and nationally funded projects for more than 15 years, including Interreg programmes and projects focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, design, education, and sustainable business development.
From project to practice - Our role goes beyond project participation. We help engage companies, facilitate networks, test new approaches, communicate results and translate project activities into practical value for businesses.
A strong local ecosystem - Based in Kolding in Southern Denmark, we connect partners with a strong ecosystem of companies, educational institutions, public authorities, cultural organisations and innovation environments.

Our strategic focus reflects the business policies of the municipality of Kolding and the areas where we actively seek new partnerships and project opportunities. Innovation, design, digitalisation & AI
We explore how innovation, technology and design can strengthen business development and competitiveness, particularly among SMEs.
Our interests include SME digitalisation, practical applications of AI, design thinking and user-centred innovation, creative industries and the cultural economy.
Skills, education, international workforce & inclusive labour markets
We work to strengthen companies’ access to the skills and talent they need – now and in the future.
Our interests include upskilling and reskilling, recruitment and onboarding of international talent, collaboration between businesses and educational institutions, talent development and inclusive labour markets.
Green transition, ESG & responsible business
We are interested in projects that help companies turn sustainability and responsible business ambitions into practical action and new business opportunities.
Our interests include circular economy, sustainable supply chains, energy efficiency and green technologies, ESG and responsible business practices, and the social dimension of sustainability.

Entrepreneurship and business development are cross-cutting elements in our work, including the development of new business models, networks, mentoring, investment readiness and support for entrepreneurs and SMEs.

Business development expertise - Knowledge and practical experience within innovation, entrepreneurship and business development, supported by close interaction with the local business community.
Communication & dissemination - Capacity to recruit participants, facilitate events and networks, engage relevant stakeholders and communicate project activities and results to businesses and wider audiences.
Design is part of our DNA
The municipality of Kolding has worked strategically with design for decades and is an UNESCO Creative City of Design.
Design is embedded across the city – from education, culture and creative communities to business development and public innovation. This gives us a distinctive environment for projects involving design thinking, user-centred innovation, creativity and cross-sector collaboration.

Business Kolding has participated in projects and partnerships across Denmark and Europe since 2009. Our experience includes projects funded through or connected to programmes such as Interreg Baltic Sea Region, Interreg Deutschland–Danmark, Interreg Europe, EU structural funds and national foundations and programmes.
